Waymo diversifies in Nashville with Lyft – Cleantechnica

Waymo still adds robotaxi services in more and more cities. This year, his habit of partnership with Uber was on these new markets and made Waymo Robotaxi accessible exclusively in Uber. However, at Waymo Newst City, Nashville, Robotaxi cooperates with Lyft.

It makes sense. One should want competition on the market. Waymo wants to let Uber and Lyft compete for his business. It doesn’t want to be the thumb of one main network for cycling. (Many also prefer Lyft for certain reasons for social and administration, but I don’t think that’s what is here in the game.)

With every new city Waymo, Robotaxi should naturally improve and improve. Waymo users have already loved this service years ago and research last year showed that people were even willing to pay more to get Waymo Robotaxi than taxi with people. So one has to jump in a positive introduction, growing service, and then enneys how Waymo enters another city.

Here is more of the Waymo reports this week: “Our generalized Waymo driver has been more capable because we have been adjusted every weekend to hang thousands of fully autonomous rides across the five main American cities. In the coming months we will start fully autonomous in Nashville and open public riders next year.

“We are also excited that we can offer riders in Nashville and more ways to ride with Waymo. The riders will come across the Waymo app, and how our service is growing, the riders will also be able to use the LYT application to match the Waymo.”

Well, that’s an interesting twist! Instatead, which is only available in a partner application (as with Waymo), customers will first be able to get driving through Waymo and then later via Lyft. Maybe Lyft needs more time, maybe it’s not as challenging as Uber with exclusive, or perhaps Waymo is just trying different approaches. Who knows?

Waymo now controls more than 100 million fully autonomous kilometers, and data suggests that its robotax is safer than the average human driver.

Here are several statements from remarkable people:

“As families and businesses move to Tennessee in record numbers, our state continues to lead a nation to find innovative solutions for transport challenges,” says Governor Bill Lee. “The use of private sector sector technologies, such as fully autonomous Waymo vehicles, are exploring opportunities that we could not achieve on our, and further acceleration of economic growth. I look forward to running Waymo in volunteer.”

“This partnership brings together the best autonomous vehicles in its class with the best experience with customers in their class,” said Lyft CEO David Risher. “Waymo has shown that ISS auto-auto-technology is working on a scale. In combination with Lyft’s abilities and fleet management, two great tastes are together.

“We are pleased that we can cooperate with Lyft and next year we will start in Nashville, because we continue to scal our service Waymo Ride-Hailing for more people in more places,” said Waymo TEEDRA Mawakana. “The extensive Lyft fleet management capabilities make them an ideal partner for expansion to Nashville. We cannot introduce the residents and visitors of Music City to the monastery, consistency, a safe and magical experience of Waymo.”

Well, maybe these statements are a bit bland and predictable, but that’s what we have. Perhaps they are more useful for local outlet that you are covered by every Waymo expansion.

Overall, however, it is really exciting to see Waymo spread to more and more cities. It is a bit funny that expansion to New Town is still before the start of service, but I think one way to do it – and provides more time to gather the interest of potential customers.
